The trees to the left of the fairway have exposed roots which can ruin a day in a few ways. You have a free lift if the root interferes with your swing or stance. Drop in direct line with the pin and no closer. Any other trees left and right are in red staked areas and those don't rules apply.
Ledge rule: 11th hole only. Player receives free relief when ledge interferes with swing, ball or stance. No closer to hole. Drop zone to be used on 11, 12 and 14 for balls struck into woods or swamp. 1 stroke penalty.
Drop zone for ball struck into woods or swamp. 1 stroke penalty. Back side of green is OB.
A question popped up within our group about an embedded ball in the rough. The decision was left up to the opponent which is league protocol. The correct answer as explained by the USGA.
Under USGA rules, you can take free relief for a plugged (embedded) ball anywhere in the general area, which includes the rough. This means you can lift and clean the ball, or you can drop a ball within one club-length of the spot where the ball was embedded, but not closer to the hole.
Elaboration:
General Area:
The general area is defined as the entire course except for bunkers, penalty areas, the teeing ground, and the putting green.
Embedded Ball:
A ball is considered embedded if it is in its own pitch-mark and part of the ball is below the level of the ground.
Relief Process:
You lift and clean the ball, mark the spot where the ball was embedded, and then drop a ball within one club-length of that spot, but not closer to the hole than the original spot.
